For those of you not mathematically inclined (as I mostly am) the number in the title is generally referred to as Pi. Pi is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to it’s diameter which comes out to 22/7 or 3.14. Since 1988 nerds have been celebrating March 14, as Pi Day. This year’s Pi Day is a little more special because the date will be 3/14/15 or 3.1415; the first 5 digits of Pi (see title of the blog post).

Coincidentally March 14, is also the Birthday of Albert Einstein. He was born in 1879. The 150th anniversary of Einstein’s birthday will be in 2029. I bet that will be one massive Pi Day celebration.
